Melbourne University Car Club Inc is a not-for-profit club run by volunteers. This page explains what we collect through this website and what we do with it.
What we collect
If you fill in a form on this site - the contact form, the volunteer form, or a membership application - we collect the details you type into it. That is normally your name, email address, phone number and whatever you write in the message. A membership application also collects your postal address and the membership category you choose.
What we do with it
We use it to reply to you, to process your membership, and to contact you about the events you have offered to help at. We do not sell it, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the club except where we have to: your membership details go to Motorsport Australia, because MUCC membership includes membership of that body.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. That sets cookies in your browser. We use it to understand how the site is used, not to identify individuals. Your browser settings can block cookies if you would rather they were not set.
Spam protection
Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots, and submissions pass through a spam-filtering service before they reach us. Both see the contents of the form and the IP address it came from.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while they are useful and then deleted. Membership records are kept for as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period afterwards, because the club needs a record of who was a member in which year.
Getting a copy, or asking us to delete it
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@mucc.org.au and we will sort it out.
